FRONT ROYAL – Area youth interested in honing their basketball skills should put the 10th Annual Skyline Co-ed Basketball Camp on their calendars.

Girls Basketball Head Coach Jim Kenney says the camp, which will be held from June 11-14, offers students from second grade and above a chance to hone skills, have fun and also, to get a taste of “H*A*W*K Values”.

Kenney, who also teaches Biology and Environmental Science at Skyline High School, says the camp will be lead by him, Assistant Coach Anthony Crescienzi, along with Boys Varsity Basketball Coach Jeff Monroe. The Skyline Girls Basketball team members will serve as counselors at the week-long camp, which is a fundraiser for the program.

Attendees will focus on footwork, shooting, defense, ball-handling, passing, and “H*A*W*K Values”, a set of guiding principles by which Skyline students are encouraged to live.

Though the camp is a fundraiser, Coach Kenney says he has tried to keep the cost low, at $75 for the week, to avoid excluding anyone who might want to participate. Some need-based scholarships are available.

  • Campers can look forward to the following during the June 11-14 event, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
  • Daily instruction from Skyline Basketball staff and varsity players
  • Instructional environment for players of all skill levels
  • Games to showcase talent and strengths
  • Awards, for both individuals and teams
  • A camp t-shirt
