The Front Royal Town Council meeting on April 9 was longer than usual, as about a dozen speakers stepped up to the podium to voice their thoughts regarding issues in the community. A majority of the citizens came to speak against Valley Health’s rezoning request for a new Warren Memorial Hospital campus that would not include an obstetric unit. Many are also angry that the OB unit at the current Warren Memorial Hospital will be shuttered on May 1.
Council decided to delay voting on the second and final reading of the rezoning, and will vote at its April 23 meeting on its resolution supporting the inclusion of an obstetric unit at the new hospital. [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6Nj-2i1ZDU[/embedyt]
