FRONT ROYAL – Northern Virginia police officer Mark Butler, a longtime Warren County resident, was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Boone, the first K-9 officer in the Front Royal Police Department. Though Butler, a veteran, is busy working as an officer himself, and running his business 3D Professional Training, which trains first responders all over the country, he felt compelled to do something in honor of the beloved K-9.
Butler decided the best way to honor Boone and contribute to the community would be to offer a class at a special price and donate all proceeds from the event to the Front Royal Police Foundation, which has a fund established for the K-9 program.
The class will teach participants to render survival aid. Butler says, “Accidents occur and things happen that cannot be controlled , but if one is prepared, it might make the difference in a life-threatening situation. This class is not designed to make you a doctor, medic or in any way certify you as a medical expert but it will help you to learn life-saving techniques.”
To sign up for the Sunday, March 25 class, email Butler at: [email protected] and pay the $30 donation at the door. The class will be held at Convergent CrossFit at 3056 Dismal Hollow Road in Linden.
